SOLAR PLATE WARRANTY
SOLARMAX CC OFFERS A WARRANTY AGAINST FAULTY MATERIALS AND/OR WORKMANSHIP IN MANUFACTURE AND IS APPLICABLE FROM THE DATE OF INVOICE ISSUED; ALTERNATIVELY THE DATE OF DISPATCH WILL BE USED AT THE DESCRETION OF SOLARMAX ONLY.
SolarMAX’s obligations are specifically limited to the foregoing and this warranty expressly covers the SolarMAX’s range of solar products only and does not cover any other.
· A Ten (10) year limited warranty is applied on the SMX
Range manufactured on the premises of SolarMAX by the employees of SolarMAX or agents periodically and specifically appointed by SolarMAX.
· The SolarMAX products will be repaired or replaced for free if returned to the SolarMAX workshop within 10 years upon receipt of sufficient proof that damage can be ascribed to faulty workmanship or materials.
· No transport or removal costs will be covered in the 4th to 10th year after invoice date.
· Warrantee claims will only be attended to within SolarMAX working hours and only if the unit in question is easily and readily available for inspection by an appointed SolarMAX agent or a person instructed by SolarMAX.
· The costs for assessment, removal, transport and re-installation will only be catered for within the first 3 years from date of invoice at the discretion of SolarMAX. A maximum of R1800.00 + VAT may be reimbursable to a client upon sufficient proof that a warrantee claim is applicable and with supporting VAT refundable invoice produced by the claimant for the work performed. If SolarMAX appoints an agent to attend to the claim, all extra costs over the maximum allowed amount will be for the expense of the person signing the claim form; as this would indicate a system that is not readily available for removal and inspection. SolarMAX holds the right to withhold any claim compensation until sufficient proof is supplied or shown to indicate a valid claim. On no occasions will SolarMAX entertain claims that were not substantiated by legitimate invoicing or not initiated by SolarMAX. Any claim must be pre-ceded by a signed claim form prior to any action taken.
· A three month replacement warranty is offered on other components (i.e. electrical elements, thermostats, temperature & pressure control valves) manufactured outside the jurisdiction of SolarMAX. This replacement is done as a courtesy and at the discretion of SolarMAX. Costs of removal and re-installation of the above components will not be covered as SolarMAX has no control over the manufacture or installation of these products in question. Components that carry a longer manufacturer’s warrantee than 3 months may be returned to SolarMAX, whereby facilitation of the claim procedures may be entertained by SolarMAX at the discretion of SolarMAX only.
· All components not listed are warranted by the manufacturers of those particular products in question. SolarMAX will, as a courtesy only, act as intermediate to facilitate claims arising from faulty materials or products. Under no circumstances will SolarMAX be held responsible for goods returned where the quality and related lifetime thereof cannot be controlled by SolarMAX. This warranty covers the parts only, with labour charged out at rates applicable at the time. SolarMAX ‘s obligations are specifically limited to the foregoing and this warranty expressly covers the SMX range of solar water heating components only, and does not cover any other parts of the installation which may as a consequence of the failure or defect of the SMX range of solar components, become damaged in any way whatsoever. Under no circumstances shall SolarMAX be held liable for any direct or indirect or consequential loss suffered by the customer or any other party.
· This warranty is the only warranty which is given and is expressly in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied in law, including any implied warrant of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
· No amendments or additions to this warrant shall be binding on SolarMAX unless recorded in writing and signed by a duly authorized officer of the company.
· This warranty shall be vitiated and rendered of no force and effect if any repairs or any work is undertaken by the customer or others on his behalf in an attempt to remedy an alleged fault unless authorized in writing by the manufacturer.

NB: the warranty is only applicable if connected to regional water supply via a pressure reducing valve, expansion relief valve and vacuum breakers and correctly handled by qualified personnel, further that all electrical work to be undertaken by qualified persons only. Before work is undertaken, please refer to our installation instructions.
Exclusions
The existence of any one or more of the conditions listed below will immediately invalidate the warrantee:
· A Claim form is not provided to SolarMAX (prior to any work performed) in order to initiate claim procedures in a systematic and fair way.
· •Any damage that is due to incorrect installation or circumstances arising from incorrect installation. (Non compliance to SANS 10254)
· Glass damage or breakage (Rough handling, transport or incorrect installation)
· Any damage caused by natural forces of any description, i.e.: hail, frost, fire etc (Outside of controllable factors)
· Any damage caused by usage beyond the design specifications of the particular product (not used as designed for).
· Any damage caused by appliances in any way connected to the particular product (not used as designed for).
· Any damage caused through corrosive or aggressive water (untreated water not catered for).
· Any damage caused though vacuum draw or overpressure of the particular product (incorrect installation)
· Any damage caused by freezing on solar collectors (Incorrect system was installed or installation was faulty)
· Any damage outside South African borders
