1.       Installation guarantee - 1 (one) year: SolarMAX CC guarantees the installation of the solar water heating unit against faulty workmanship for a period of 1 (one) year from date of installation.

2.       Freeze protection valve / vacuum breaker and presure reducing valves - 1 (one) year: The manufacturer of the freeze protection valve, vacuum breakers and pressure reducing valve guarantees these component parts against failure due to defects in material and workmanshop when properly installed and used in accordance with installation instruction for a period of 1 (one) year from date of installation.  All other components viz/ air vents, expansion tanks, expansion relief valves, etc. (if applicable) are also guaranteed as above for 1 (one) year from date of installation.

3.       Effect of guarantees: The manufacturer will therefore, in their absolure discretion, replace or repair the faulty item during the guarantee period if such defect has arisen as a result of faulty materials or workmanshop when properly installed and used in accordance with installation instructions for a period of 1 (one) year from date of installation.

4.       Conditions of guarantees: The above-mentioned guarantees are subject to the following conditions.

1.       The guarantees only apply to users who use or obtain water from a recognized municipal source or where water is of such an acceptable quality that failure of the copper in the solar water heater cannot be attributed to corrosion as a result of imperfections in the water supply to the solar system.

2.       The faulty item must be made readily available for inspection, repair or replacement, and the manufacturer or its approved installer will be give access to the premises to effect such inspection, repair or replacement at all times during business hours.

3.       The guarantees do not cover any transport, removal or labour charges incurred by the manufacturer or its approved installer.

4.       The guarantees doe not cover any direct or indirect damage caused by or suffered as a result of negligence or malive of the user / and third party / and or any installation not done by the manufacturer or its agents or any unforseen or unusual circumstances, nor is the manufacturer or its approved installers liable for any damage caused or suffered as a result of extreme corrosive conditions in water or air.

5.       The guarantees shall automatically become null and void if any repairs are undertaken by the user or others on his behalf.

6.       The user is obliged to notify the manufacturer immediatly upon becoming aware of any defect.

7.       The guarantees do not cover deterioration fo the system as a result of wear and rear nor normal fading and/or minor deterioration of exterior surfaces resulting from exposure to elements, nor any breakage of glass surfaces.

8.       For protection against the freezing of the liquid within the manufacturer's solar collector panels in areas where freezing conditions are encounted, we recomment on of the following methods of protection:

1.       The use of an anti-freeze liquid, viz. "Anti-Frogen L" or similar non-toxic liquid (approved by the manufacturer) in conjunction with a double jacket or a combination with a heat exchanger pipe coil; and/or

2.       The installation of a freeze protection valve (as approved by the manufacturer). Kindly note that the collector panels are not guaranteed against damage resulting from freezing, whether such freezing is complete or partial and regardless of the cause of such freezing.

5.       Extent of guarantees: The above-mentioned guarantees are the only guarantees given and accordingly the guarantees do not relate to component parts which do not form part of the above-mentioned items and are expressly in lieu of all other spress or implied warranties, or the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness of a particular purpose.  No variation or amendment of these guarantees will be of any force or effect unless such amendment or variation is done in writing and signed by a duly authorized director of the manufacturer.

7.       Please note: Whilst it is unlikely that your system can be damaged or lost, it will be covered in your normal homeowner's insurance.  Please notify your insurance company immediatly after installation.  This should not affect your premium.
